Veritas Education is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Morecambe, which is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Qualified Teaching Assistant to support its new intake of Reception children from September 2026.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for an experienced Early Years practitioner who is passionate about helping young children settle into school life and thrive during the crucial first stage of their education.

The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting Reception pupils as they begin their educational journey. You will work closely with the class teacher to create a nurturing, engaging and stimulating learning environment, helping children develop socially, emotionally and academically.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the learning and development of Reception-aged children
  • Assisting with the delivery of EYFS activities and learning opportunities
  • Helping children settle into school routines and build confidence
  • Supporting pupils with personal, social and emotional development
  • Working with small groups and on a one-to-one basis where required
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive and positive classroom environment
  • Contributing to observations and assessments in line with EYFS requirements
  • The Ideal Candidate

    The successful candidate will have:

  • A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification
  • Recent experience working within an EYFS setting
  • A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A nurturing, patient and positive approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting young children's development and wellbeing
