Veritas Education is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Wakefield. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented teacher who is passionate about developing students' literacy skills and fostering a love of English Language and Literature.

The successful candidate will join a welcoming department committed to achieving excellent outcomes for students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for suitably qualified applicants.

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring English Language and Literature lessons.
  • Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing effective feedback.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student achievement.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers to support student success.

    • The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English within a UK secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to raising attainment and supporting student development.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
