Higher Level Teaching Assistant Roles in Primary Schools

Are you an Early Career Teacher looking to gain more hands‑on classroom experience while building confidence before taking on a full teaching role? We're recruiting enthusiastic ECTs to work as Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) across a range of supportive primary schools.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your classroom practice, strengthen behaviour management skills, and lead learning with the security of pre‑planned work.

About the Role

As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Leading the classroom using pre‑planned lessons
  • Delivering small‑group and whole‑class teaching
  • Supporting pupils with varying needs and abilities
  • Managing behaviour confidently and positively
  • Assisting with general classroom routines and organisation
  • Working closely with class teachers and senior leaders

    • This role is ideal for ECTs who want to grow their confidence, gain additional experience, and develop their teaching style in a supportive environment.
