Position Information

Through collaborative partnerships and innovative learning experiences, Wilton High School inspires a lifelong passion for growth, respect, and belonging. Wilton HS will be delivered across two stages with Stage 1 of the high school opening on Day 1 Term 1 2027. The school's projected enrolment is 165 students when it opens Stage 1 in 2027 in Yr 7 and 8. Once Stage 2 is complete in 2028, the school will have capacity for up to 1,000 students. It is anticipated that the school will have an Aboriginal student enrolment of over 20 students.
General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria,
A transformational leader with highly developed skills to lead a whole-school, evidence-informed collaborative professional learning culture that improves teacher practice and wellbeing, drives student achievement and builds leadership capacity across the school.
Demonstrated expertise in leading evidence-informed teaching practices, curriculum implementation, assessment and the strategic use of data to improve student growth, engagement and achievement for all students including HPGE and those with complex learning needs.
Proven capacity to build a positive, inclusive and high-expectations school culture that promotes wellbeing, belonging and success while fostering strong partnerships with students, staff, families and the wider community.
Demonstrated capacity to adapt strategically to competing priorities and emerging needs by leading effective operational systems, processes and policies in a dynamic and evolving school environment, including the management of complex timetabling processes, curriculum offerings, student enrolment growth, resource planning and organisational change.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
