Position Information
Pendle Hill High School is a vibrant and inclusive Years 7 to 12 co-educational school with an enrolment of 800 students from the Wentworthville, Pendle Hill, Westmead and Toongabbie communities. Our rapidly growing school enrolment includes students from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, as well as students with a range of learning support and complex wellbeing needs.

Our school has a high potential and gifted education class in each of Years 7 to 10, as well as an expanding Support Unit.
A recently completed major building and refurbishment project has provided new facilities such as a modern Library and resource centre, lecture theatre, seminar and multimedia spaces as well as outdoor learning spaces and flexible classroom spaces. We provide a broad curriculum for our students, taking advantage of our new facilities and flexible learning approaches.
General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria,
1. High level interpersonal and organisational skills with a proven ability to manage the complex and competing priorities of day to day operations in a growing school, while responding to diverse needs and managing complex matters with sensitivity, professionalism and integrity.
2. Demonstrated capacity to work as an effective member of the senior executive team, with a focus on data driven strategic planning and evaluative practices that enable student learning, achievement and wellbeing to thrive in a culture of high expectations.
3. Proven ability to lead evidence informed professional learning that has a positive impact on teacher development and classroom practice.
4. Proven ability to lead student wellbeing, transition and partnership programs with clarity, confidence and impact so that the positive reputation of our school and our enrolments continue to grow.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
