The Deputy Principal will be responsible for working with the Executive Principal and the Leadership and Management Team to enact the school's ongoing improvement agenda. 

The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong capacity to lead and support complex timetable processes, ensuring strategic alignment between curriculum delivery, staffing allocation and student learning needs across the school. Working as part of the school's leadership team you will be instrumental in developing the mindsets, pedagogical practices and curriculum knowledge of teachers within your faculty.

A key part of your success will be your ability to develop and nurture positive working relationships with, and between, students, parents and staff in a large and complex school community.

As a Deputy Principal at Brisbane State High School you will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

  • Lead and oversee the whole-school timetable development and organisational processes to support effective school operations and curriculum implementation.
  • Assist the Executive Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all    students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life. 
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance. 
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
  • Be futures oriented and strategic. 
  • Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling. 
  • Manage resources to achieve goals.
