About the Role

Veritas Education is currently seeking confident, adaptable, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in the Bradford area.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, youth workers, sports coaches, or anyone with experience working with young people who is looking to gain valuable classroom experience within secondary education.

Whether you're looking for flexible work around existing commitments or a full-time role as a stepping stone into teaching, we have opportunities to suit your needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
  • Deliver pre-set lesson plans and ensure students remain on task
  • Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
  • Manage behaviour in accordance with school policies
  • Support students with their learning and engagement
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on lesson progress and behaviour
  • Promote high expectations of behaviour and achievement
  • Follow all safeguarding and school procedures

    • The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident managing groups of students
  • Calm, professional, and resilient approach
  • Able to build positive relationships with staff and pupils
  • Organised and reliable with good classroom presence
  • An interest in education or a future teaching career is advantageous
