About the Role

Veritas Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit a Cover Supervisor. This role is available on a full-time, part-time, or flexible ad hoc supply basis, making it an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking adaptable working arrangements.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising pre-set lessons in the absence of teaching staff. This is an ideal position for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced education professionals looking to develop their classroom experience within a supportive secondary school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers
  • Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students remain on task
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Supporting students with their learning and responding to any queries
  • Recording attendance and providing feedback to teaching staff

    • Requirements

  • Experience working with young people (in a school or similar setting) is desirable
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • A proactive and adaptable approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting education
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
