Specific Criteria
- Supportive of the Catholic Ethos of the Diocese of Broken Bay
- Highly effective, skilled classroom practitioner
- Current knowledge of The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and Disability Standards for Education
- Current knowledge of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD), its processes and obligation to schools
- Develop, implement, assess, and monitor the individual plans for each student in the support class, including behaviour and personal care support plans.
- Collaborate with CSBB teachers, Learning Partners and external health and wellbeing service providers to ensure students are engaged in learning with successful outcomes
- Facilitate safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive behaviour for learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Successful experience in building the capacity of teachers to support children with disability
- Committed to supporting student wellbeing.
Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4-year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four-year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese.
Qualifications and Accreditations
- Practising Catholic and/or can demonstrate an understanding and commitment to, the ethos of the Catholic faith in an educational context
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or working towards an initial teacher education program in accordance with the Enterprise Agreement
- NESA accredited as Proficient or working towards Proficient accreditation
- Accredited to be a teacher of Religious Education or in the process of completing RE accreditation (applicable for Primary teachers)
- Valid Working with Children Check
