About the School

Goombungee State School opened on 1 November 1881, with an enrolment of 17 with Annie McLeod Rowland as teacher. Today, Goombungee State School is a Prep to Year 6, co-educational school, with approximately 100 students. We are located in a beautiful rural setting, 46km's north of Toowoomba. Your Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the day-to-day administration of the school, overseeing office operations, record management, reporting systems, correspondence, appointments, and the effective use of school management platforms to support efficient business operations.
  • Supervise and support school support staff, including workforce planning, recruitment, induction, training, workload management, leave administration, relief arrangements, and performance monitoring in collaboration with the Principal.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the school budget and financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, banking, corporate card monitoring, and financial reporting to support informed decision-making.
  • Coordinate the management of school facilities, assets, resources and technology, including maintenance, repairs, minor works projects, asset registers, and liaising with contractors and technical support providers to ensure a safe and functional learning environment.
  • Prepare and manage a range of school documentation, including reports, meeting minutes, newsletters, policy documents, annual reports and correspondence, ensuring accuracy, professionalism and compliance with school requirements.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with staff, students, parents, community members and departmental stakeholders, providing high-quality advice, problem-solving support and administrative leadership while ensuring compliance with legislative, policy and corporate service requirements.
