About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Behaviour Lead to join an alternative provision high school in Wigan. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and improving behaviour outcomes across the school.
You will take a lead role in developing and implementing behaviour strategies, supporting staff, and working directly with pupils to promote positive engagement and readiness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on whole-school behaviour strategy and implementationSupport pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and behavioural needsDe-escalate incidents and manage challenging behaviour effectivelyDevelop and monitor individual behaviour plansWork closely with teaching staff to improve classroom behaviourProvide coaching and guidance to staff on behaviour managementTrack, analyse, and report behaviour dataLiaise with parents/carers and external agenciesPromote a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environmentRequirements
Experience in a Behaviour Lead, Pastoral, or SEN roleStrong understanding of SEMH and alternative provisionProven ability to manage and improve challenging behaviourConfident in de-escalation and restorative approachesExcellent communication and leadership skillsResilient, calm, and solution-focusedEnhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)Why Apply?
