Position Information
Kingsgrove Public School is a comprehensive and inclusive primary school located in South West Sydney. Our school community is culturally and linguistically diverse with 78% of students coming from a language background other than English. Our school is located across two campuses and features a K-2 and 3-6 setting, with a total enrolment of 270 students. We have a support unit with four classes catering for students with Autism, Moderate Intellectual Disabilities and behavioural needs.
We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality teaching and learning programs supported by evidence-based practice and ongoing professional learning for staff. Our approach is guided by data-informed decision-making, with a strong emphasis on the explicit teaching of literacy and numeracy and on providing differentiated learning opportunities for every student.

General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria,
· In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with autism, intellectual disabilities and complex learning and behavioural needs within a support class with demonstrated ability to effectively manage the dual role of Assistant Principal and exemplary special education teacher.
· Proven ability to lead and develop evidence-based, evaluative and differentiated teaching and learning practices, including the design, implementation and monitoring of individualised programs that address diverse learning needs and enhance engagement and wellbeing to maximise learning outcomes for all students.
· Evidence of a highly visible, approachable and collaborative leader with a capacity to build and maintain positive, inclusive, trusting relationships and partnerships with students, families, staff, external agencies and the wider community, inclusive of managing the performance of individuals and teams across a complex culturally diverse community.
· Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively as a dynamic member of the executive leadership team and to lead whole-school initiatives aligned with the school’s strategic directions, including fostering wellbeing practices to ensure an inclusive, equitable and supportive learning environment.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
