Don’t know how to start using SketchUp? Have you played around with SketchUp but feel that you have missed some basic tips, shortcuts, page set ups?
Developing High-Quality Multimedia Projects
Multimedia is the increasingly popular focus area of the Industrial Technology course with many schools picking it up for the first time. This hands-on session located at the offices of Adobe in Sydney will explore what makes high-quality multimedia products from a practical perspective. It will include a walkthrough of three exemplary examples, and then participants can elect from two breakout groups for practical instruction in Video Production Essentials Using Adobe Premiere Pro and Animating with Adobe Photoshop CC.
Creo extension
This course is for those already trained in Creo version 1, 2 or 3 and wish to revise or extend their skills. The worlds best product development software with the ability to import any other CAD data. Creo and PTC are moving into the Internet of Things. This course covers Mechanisms, Sheet Materials and Surface Modelling. And of course the chance to ask questions and revise. Reminders of the range of support available will be included.
AutoDesk Fusion360- CAD
The latest in Computer Aided Design from Autodesk. This is an introductory course to the future of CAD. This course covers, licensing and install, basic operations, classroom management in CAD, the role of modelling in curriculum and Q and A. Participants will leave with enough skills to model basic products such as those in Industrial Technology and Design and Technology.
Sharpening tools
This course is designed for teachers who need to develop/improve their knowledge and ‘Hands On’ skills to quickly and effectively keep the tools in their rooms sharp and the correct procedures in setting up and using these tools. This does help students to be engaged with their work.

Civil Engineering focus - looking at ways UTS teach civil engineering/statics and the methods they use to teach "threshold concepts" such as beam analysis, truss analysis and the like, where students either 'get it' or they don't.

Sammy will present a discussion on the heat treatment of steel and corrosion - looking at all the syllabus corrosion topics across all areas, as well as the heat treatment of steel.

Vitual Reality and Augmented Reality
Technology based subjects continually evolve as new technologies emerge. Two such new and emerging technologies are Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR). Research is showing that the use of VR and AR can increase student motivation, enhance visual and spatial awareness, support different learning styles, speed up the design process, foster creativity and allows students to communicate their ideas in new and improved way.
Introduction to Unity3D - Commercial Quality Game Development
Description: The 1 hour introduction to commercial quality game development includes building worlds, importing vehicles and characters, writing code and creating spawnpoints. Also explore the three most common methods of artificial intelligence used in gaming.
Design elements using vector graphics in Illustrator
Illustrator is used for a range of products e.g. from logo design and creating digital landscapes to designing objects for use in laser cutting. In this course you will learn how to correctly set up a document and use tools in an efficient industry standard process to effectively produce a range of projects that can be used from year 7 to 12.
