Wakefield School is a school for specific purpose (SSP) that caters for students with complex mental health presentations (emotional disturbances) and behaviour disorders.

The core values of ‘Respect, Responsibility and Learning’ underpin our aim to provide every student with the opportunity to experience success and to optimise their social, emotional, academic and vocational competencies. Wakefield School historically has catered for 35 students in Years 5-10 (5 classes), however, in 2020, it will be providing an educational experience for 42 students with Emotional Disturbances (ED) in Years 7-12 due to the establishment of an additional class. The school population is currently 16% female and 84% male students, 32% of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background and 58 % of students living in Out of Home Care arrangements.
