Specific Learning Difficulties Association of SA (SPELD SA)

Professional development / Last updated 4 years, 8 months ago

SPELD SA is a not-for-profit organisation which provides support for those with specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, and those who support them.

We provide advice and work with schools to help them transition to phonic readers to support phonics teaching. We are also working with a number of community organisations to supply public libraries with phonic readers.

Some exciting new projects that will start being rolled out from Term 2 this year include free workshops available online to the public, and a new video conferencing feature that will allow us to provide an online consultation service to regional and remote families and schools.

SPELD SA has an extensive website with free resources that can help professionals, teachers, tutors and parents help children and adults with dyslexia.

We also provide tailored training and development to schools and the community around best practice and strategies for teaching those with learning difficulties in mainstream and tier 2 and 3 settings.

Visit www.speld-sa.org.au to access our resources and services and please email info@speld-sa.org.au to join our mailing list for a quarterly e-newsletter.
