Southern Cross School of Distance Education is a
K-12 school committed to the wellbeing and engagement of our students, creating
a dynamic learning community and developing a culture of learning. Located in
Ballina we cater for the needs of a broad range of students from the Queensland
border down to the Coffs Harbour area and west to Inverell. Students range from
isolated and rural students to those who are unable to attend a traditional
school setting for varying reasons and require significant support. Southern Cross School of Distance Education
has an enrolment of 570 full time students with 30% Aboriginal students
and 510 single subject students. Our school caters to the needs of all students
through learning hubs, teacher visits, computer based technologies and hard
copy learning materials. This position requires travel throughout our drawing
area.
