Mercy Catholic College, Chatswood is a systemic girls secondary school on the Lower North Shore of Sydney. The school was established in 1890 by the Sisters of Mercy. The first lay Principal was appointed in 1989. The enrolment of the college is 650 students. The college aims to educate students to be strong Catholic women, ready and able to take an active role in society. It values the role of the individual (students, staff, parents) within the community, and attempts to encourage the understanding that rights must be balanced by responsibilities. It strives to meet the sentiments of the prophet Micah to 'act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with your God'.
