Maroubra Junction Public School is situated on Bidjigal and Gadigal lands in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. We are located in a high density area, with a mix of residential and commercial properties and major public and recreational facilities nearby. We enjoy modern facilities with spacious grounds that are well-landscaped and maintained. Our learning spaces are innovative and well-resourced.

We have a diverse community. Fifty-five percent of our 535 students have a language background other than English. We have dedicated English as Additional Language/Dialect teachers to support the development of English language skills. We offer Greek and Chinese (Mandarin) as community languages and celebrate our myriad of multicultural backgrounds through whole school events and the inclusion of cultural perspectives within our teaching and learning programs. Our school is an inclusive environment that caters for diversity in learning and support. Our P&C and School Council actively support our school community and the achievement of outcomes for our students. The centre for Out of School Hours Care caters for families who require before and after school care and vacation care. We offer a range of extracurricular activities to add to the development of students' interests and talents.

The diversity of our staff members is a strength of our school. We come from a variety of cultural backgrounds and bring a wealth of professional experiences, skills and passions. We foster a love of learning and provide students with positive, safe and challenging learning environments. We provide student leadership opportunities, varied STEAM initiatives, vibrant creative arts events, a wide range of sporting activities and a dynamic library.

At our school, learning is visible and students adopt a positive growth mindset when faced with adversity. Our core values of respect, learning and safety underpin our expectations that utilise the ethos of Positive Behaviours for Learning programs. High expectations lend themselves to improvement in literacy and numeracy outcomes, building the capacuity of all stakeholders and engaging as a school community.
