Lisarow Public School has a student enrolment of 226 students which is made up of 6% of students from an Aboriginal background. Lisarow Public School is a beautiful, historical, community focused school with long standing partnerships and is part of the Valley Schools Learning Community on the NSW Central Coast.

 

The school has a strong and genuine partnership with the community and the P&C, which is actively involved in ensuring the school is well positioned in supporting quality outcomes for students. The parent community have a focus on supporting ongoing learning programs at the school which includes technology and various infrastructure programs which enhance the learning environment for all students. Parents are active participants in learning and daily school life and are deeply proud of the genuine collaborative partnerships that have been developed with Lisarow Public School.

 

The school offers excellent teaching and learning programs in literacy and numeracy with an additional focus on integrating Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics into learning programs. The staff are aspiring to develop resilience and critical thinking skills in students to become innovative problem solvers in a future ready society. Staff strive to engage in ongoing professional learning with a current focus on Quality Teaching. Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) forms the basis of the approach to student wellbeing at Lisarow Public School. PBL strategies are based on the core values of respect, responsibility and personal best and are embedded into all aspects of school life. The school has a strength in catering for the individualised learning needs for all students through an innovative and committed Learning and Support Team.

 

Positive links are being strengthened with the Valley Schools Learning Community which is a collaboration of local public schools including high schools. Other links include Cooinda AECG and the University of Newcastle Ourimbah Campus. The school is developing a range of cultural programs which offer opportunities for students to excel. Extra curricula opportunities in sport and creative arts bring a richness to the learning opportunities for students.
