JCU Townsville is a teaching, research and community hub with a range of state-of-the-art facilities and resources for students to make the most of their time at university across two campuses: Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas and the City campus. Over 13,000 students are part of the JCU Townsville community, including approximately 1,500 international students, with a rich environment and social culture to make their uni experience a great one.

JCU Townsville houses teaching and research facilities, the main JCU library, cafés, bars, fitness and sporting facilities and a wealth of student clubs and societies. The Bebegu Yumba campus hosts the JCU Science Place, an award-winning space for students to develop their professional skills and learn from leading lecturers and researchers in technology-enabled active learning spaces and cutting edge research labs.

Townsville is large enough to escape the hustle and bustle of big city life, but large enough to boast a range of entertainment, environmental and social amenities. Townsville is Australia’s largest tropical city with a population of around 190,000. It’s a thriving coastal city and port, and a stepping-off point for visiting the Great Barrier Reef. The resort regions of the Whitsunday Islands and Mission Beach are within easy reach, as are historic outback towns such as Charters Towers.
