International Languages Exchanges and Pathways (ILEP) is a project set up by Auckland UniServices on behalf of the Ministry of Education to support New Zealand schools and teachers in implementing a successful Learning Languages curriculum area in years 7-13. ILEP runs a range of programmes with the aim of growing and strengthening foreign language learning in New Zealand schools.

ILEP works to achieve this aim through the following actions:

  • giving strategic advice on effective language learning programmes
  • providing individualised professional learning and development pathways for teachers
  • connecting the language learning community

Find out more about ILEP's services such as Professional Pathways for teachers and principals, support in setting up or restructuring a Learning Languages programme in your school, our National Advisers for Chinese, French, German, Japanese and Spanish, Scholarships and Immersion Programmes, our ALLiS team and Language Assistants.

Through these programmes, our tailored support can help you and your school build success in the Learning Languages area of the curriculum.
