Harrington Public School has an enrolment of 111 students in 2019 including 16 who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The staff are committed to continuous and sustainable school improvement. The school has wonderful community support and provides many extracurricular opportunities for students that enhance and enrich their learning experiences. There is a strong focus on the wellbeing of students.
A mix of experienced and early career teachers work collaboratively to provide quality teaching and learning catering for the diverse needs of students. Staff are committed to ongoing professional learning and continuously reflect on their practice. Learning environments are contemporary and embrace future learning initiatives.
The school is part of the Early Action for Success strategy and has an instructional leader who focuses on instructional leadership and the engagement and improvement of literacy and numeracy results of students. Student goal setting in literacy, numeracy and to manage behaviour are a focus of the school.
