Coreen School is a special education setting, located in Bungarribee principal network, catering for students
from Years 7 to 12. The school provides an educational setting for students who
have been assessed as having a mild to moderate intellectual disability (IM/IO)
as well as an emotional disorder (ED), behaviour disorder and/or a mental
health diagnosis (MH). Small class sizes, life skills curriculum and personalised
learning programs support quality and differentiated teaching. Coreen School is
comprised of two campuses which include the Coreen Campus and the Blacktown
Tutorial Centre. The Coreen campus caters for 49 enrolments with a dual intellectual
and mental health diagnosis. Blacktown Tutorial
Centre caters for up to 21 students who maintain a shared enrolment with their
home school. The Blacktown Tutorial Centre provides targeted interventions to
support students’ return to their home school.

Coreen School incorporates Positive
Behaviour for Learning (PBL) throughout the school establishing clear directions
in behaviour management across varied pathways of practice. The school engages
with interagency organisations such as AIME, Youth Unlocked and Team Got it to
provide stronger engagement with learning and within the community so as to enhance
student outcomes.  Students are also
supported across both campuses with post school options including TAFE and
employment.
