School Context
Chester Hill Public School has an enrolment of enrolment 700 students, including 89% of students from a non-English speaking background. Our school serves a diverse community and has a strong focus on teacher professional learning with an emphasis on improving student outcomes in literacy and numeracy using explicit teaching and differentiated learning. The school is participating in the Early Action for Success initiative incorporating Literacy, Learning and Language (L3). Our school has highly experienced and motivated teachers who work collaboratively in stage teams. Programs to engage all students include Targeted Early Numeracy, QuickSmart and PBL. The school also has a strong sporting and creative arts tradition. Through our active Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C) we are developing a growing profile in the community. This is supported by our inclusion in the National Community Hubs program.
