Brookman PS is located 12 km from Perth. Staff efforts at Brookman were recently acknowledged through two major awards: 2018 Primary School of the Year and 2018 Excellence in Leadership: Governor's Primary STEM Award Brookman PS is a lead school (Teacher Development School) in both STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) and Languages Noongar. Early Childhood Education: an emphasis on Intentional Play-Based Learning supported by Explicit Teaching.

Over recent years Brookman has become acknowledged as a lead school in Science Technology Engineering Arts Mathematics (STEAM) and Languages Noongar.  In recognition of its achievements and leadership in these areas, the school was presented the Department of Education’s 2018 Primary School of the Year Award, won the 2018 Leadership Excellence Award in the Governor’s School STEM Awards and became a Teacher Development School in STEAM and Noongar.  Our multi-cultural campus draws students from over forty culturally rich backgrounds and provides opportunities for discovery and innovation. Our STEAM focussed environment provides our students with opportunities to develop skills in creativity, independent thinking, critical analysis, problem solving, teamwork and communication. Our students are encouraged to develop real world problem solving skills to support them in the future.

As an Independent Public School, we pride ourselves on offering our students positive learning experiences. In providing additional opportunities for our students, staff often volunteer their time to run activities during lunchtimes. These have included a variety of fun learning activities such as lunchtime library games, chess, football, soccer, netball and touch rugby competitions. These activities allow children to be engaged in activities  which build on their social and emotional development.

Sporting activities are offered through Faction and Interschool Sport while Drama, Music and Visual Arts provide a range of additional opportunities for students to excel in the Arts. While our Choir performs with other schools in an annual concert, locally our Edu Dance performances have become enormously popular with students, parents and the wider community. The Annual Visual Arts Display and Choir Performance on Open Night remain highlights of the year. These numerous opportunities combine with our Chaplain and strong pastoral care program to make for a safe, enjoyable environment in which students can learn and play.

Our teachers and support staff form our most valuable assets and work collaboratively to provide tailored learning programs for students. Specialised support in the key areas of Literacy, Numeracy, Science and Digital Technologies ensure our students are offered learning programs supporting their needs and level of achievement.

Additionally, students with English as an Additional Language are also offered support from our specialist teacher.

Our onsite Child and Parent Centre offers a range of additional services to parents and families focussed on 0 to 8 years which include Play Groups, Community Nurse and a range of family activities for parents and young children. The school also hosts a KindiLink 3 year old pre-kindergarten program for Aboriginal students and their families.

Our wonderful school gains great support and guidance from our School Board and members of the Parents and Citizens Association (P&C). We keenly involve parents and encourage them to be partners in their child’s education. Each year the school builds on its strengths and works towards ongoing improvement. We welcome new families confident they will fit in and add their own value in some small way to the living history of the school. We look forward to your involvement in the Brookman School Community.
