Resource Description

Mutation is a permanent change in the DNA and can result from errors in DNA replication or DNA damage from external factors. Mutations may occur in the form of base-pair substitutions. Substitutions that occur only in a single pair are called point mutations. Substitutions may occur either as transitions (purine to purine or pyrimidine to pyrimidine) or transversions (purine to pyrimidine and vice versa). These may cause silent mutations, missense mutations, or nonsense mutations.

An e-book resource for the New Australian Curriculum containing AAA-level research notes, summary video and resource links, multi-choice question and answer sections presented in full colour photos and diagrams for maximum learning engagement.
