Resource Description

Chickens are fascinating animals and provide students with an interesting subject matter to discuss the many aspects of our living world.

This interactive course for students explores the question 'How does the closed system of a chicken meat farm model the interactions, flow of energy and the cycling of matter through a natural ecosystem?' and comprises a series of modules and supporting videos.

Students will work in small groups to answer this question, producing a final product such as a website, a video, a poster, an essay or another option that they choose.

They will need to produce an infographic or diagram that directly compares the interactions, flow of energy and/or matter between a chicken farm and a natural ecosystem.

They will present their work to an audience.

The modules are supported by a teacher guide.

Note that referenced Google Docs are only available to NSW DoE schools.
