Tannum Sands teens helping to reclaim lost languages

Twenty-two Year 8 students at Tannum Sands High School on the Central Queensland coast are wrapping their tongues around some tricky new vocabulary.

The Gurang language program is the first of its kind in Queensland and students at Tannum Sands High School have been ‘engaging really well’.

But while this might be a language class, it’s a far cry from conversational Italian or French.
