As the school year begins to wind down, now is a great time to think about goals for 2026,” explains Kitchen Garden Program Manager, Natasha Grogan.

“We support educators with real-life advice and activities to support your ideas with practical tools, professional development and lesson plans to get you going. We’ve done the hard work for you, so you can pick up the program and get started!”

The Kitchen Garden Program offers powerful learning benefits for children and young people. Evidence shows it has a strong impact on:

  • Encouraging reluctant learners to reconnect.
  • Engagement and comprehension of a vast range of subjects, including literacy and numeracy, sustainability and STEAM subjects.
  • Practical life-long skills of leadership, confidence, communication, problem-solving, teamwork and critical thinking.
  • Increased knowledge, confidence and skills in cooking and gardening, as well as their willingness to try new foods.
