Principals impact schools in many ways, but a working paper by Mike Helal and Michael Coelli from the University of Melbourne (2016) indicated that, based on data collected from the Victorian Department of Education, for schools to enhance student achievement the most effective principals ensured that three things were in place.

Helal and Coelli contend that these principals are those who enhance their teaching staff’s sense of goal congruence as well ...
