IN 2016, England’s Ofsted Chief Inspector Sir Michael Wilshaw said of his public educators; “the ideologues confused equality with equity. They took it to mean that one size should fit all … with a wholesale dumbing down of standards, anti-elitism and glittering prizes for all … scorning attempts to celebrate excellence, paying scant regard to literacy, numeracy and good behaviour”.
