Researcher calls out teaching's lowly status in universities

Academics who teach in universities often have no formal teaching qualifications or knowledge of what quality pedagogy entails – but adopting a model used by schools could change this, a researcher has proposed.

Research has shown some universities provide no relevant teaching-based professional development at all.
