Reading anxiety: emerging research offers new insights for teachers

Professor Genevieve McArthur has got a gut feeling about the hazy link between poor reading skills and emotional problems in children, and warns ‘reading anxiety’ might well be a huge issue manifesting in classrooms.

With the right instructional intervention, the reading anxiety loop can likely be worn down over time, McArthur suggests.
