Psychological First Aid: How schools can prepare for critical incidents

As much as we prefer to not think about critical incidents, school communities will at some point experience an incident which impacts on students, staff and families.

Examples of critical incidents include serious illnesses or deaths of school community members, acts of violence, accidents, natural disasters and suicide attempts.

School staff will be aware that the better prepared for such incidents, the smoother the process of responding to it ...
