PD - the good, the bad and the ugly

Few would question the desirability of professionals up-skilling and keeping up with the latest developments in their field. I would hope the last journal my doctor read was not at medical school. However, I must admit that too much that has masqueraded as professional development in my 45 years in the game has not been much use.

Schools now budget significant outlays for staff PD. A whole industry has been created in the form of PD providers ...
