Being a gifted student in New Zealand schools can be largely frustrating – misunderstood and under-catered for, gifted students often end up not reaching their potential. EducationHQ reporter MICHELLE CURRAN speaks with chief executive officer Deborah Walker of the New Zealand Centre for Gifted Education (NZCGE), which provides a voice to the approximately 40,000 gifted learners in NZ schools, about what it means to be gifted in NZ and how schools can nurture these students and help them achieve greatness.
