NSW class sizes balloon as teachers prepare to strike
As New South Wales grapples with a shortage of teachers, one Sydney high school has been left managing classes of over 50 students, according to the state’s teachers’ union.
NSWTF president Angelo Gavrielatos said internal Department of Education documents showed 1906 permanent teaching positions were vacant last month – 67 per cent higher than at the same time last year.
