'No reason' for schools to stand staff down, union says

The Independent Education Union of Australia (IEUA) NSW/ACT Branch has demanded that schools do not proceed with plans to stand down support staff next term.

The IEUA NSW/ACT said that teachers should contact the union if they are worried about their employment rights, safety at school or requests to work from home.

The union was advised that a small number of independent schools are considering standing down staff due to COVID-19.
