More than 30 secondary schools and kura across the country will be piloting a new Māori Performing Arts subject called Te Ao Haka (The World of Haka).
The subject will mark a significant step towards ensuring parity for Māori knowledge, the ministry's deputy secretary of early learning and student achievement Ellen MacGregor-Reid said.
