New GAT assessment will publicly humiliate kids with learning difficulties: support group

A leading dyslexia support group in Victoria has warned the newly reformed General Achievement Test (GAT) for Year 12 students will publicly humiliate those with learning difficulties, hamper their future employment options and exacerbate mental health issues.

Heidi Gregory said parents and peak bodies involved in the learning support space have found the announcement "surprising" and "distressing".
