This two day Symposium is designed to bridge the knowledge gap, dispel myths, promote research, and explore diverse learning needs.

Capacity Building School Libraries

Australian students are immersed in a rapidly changing world. They need access to programs and services, teaching and learning that will help them to develop the essential skills and capabilities they need for their future success. School library personnel and school libraries have an active role in the school community to support knowledge acquisition, skills development and social intelligence. The conference will focus on four major streams: Leading from the Library, Reading for Pleasure, Creating Community Connections, and Designing Future-Focused Learning Spaces.

Wellbeing for Future Focused Schools

The focus of this conference is on the wellbeing of teachers and students with a goal to developing and updating school wellbeing programs. We know that not only do confident and resilient children with a capacity for emotional intelligence perform better academically, but these skills can also contribute to their ability to create strong social bonds and supportive communities, and to maintain healthy relationships and responsible lifestyles. Before, during and after the pandemic more and more children and young people need support for their mental health and wellbeing. This is an important theme that will grow and evolve each year. This conference targets those in leadership positions, principals, deputy principals, executive, heads of department, counsellors and a range of supporting positions.

STEM across the Curriculum

Innovation, Creativity, Entrepreneurship, Flexibility, Soft Skills, Communication, these are just some of the skills that employers now and in the future are looking for in their employees. STEM education allows us to foster collaboration, strengthen critical-thinking skills, problem solve, create real-world scenarios, and prepare our kids for the future. Educators around Australia, and the world are incorporating STEM skills, not only in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math’s, but across all subjects and levels.  We are talking about skills such as; Creativity, Inquiry Skills, Design Thinking, Critical Thinking, Collaboration….just to name a few.
