The year in education will be remembered for the comprehensive initiatives that have been introduced to better provide quality education for all. Policies, processes and funding changes are a new part of the landscape for teacher education, school's degrees of independence, and sector wide partnerships. Change has been hard and not all change has been welcome, but the general heightened attention on education as a nation building essential element has really come to the fore this past year.
