Movers, Shakers & Policy Makers –Bali Haque: Chair, Tomorrow’s Schools Review Independent Taskforce
Bali Haque knows a thing or two about leadership. He’s been principal of four different schools, been president and an executive member of SPANZ, and is a former Deputy Chief Executive of NZQA. As a presenter, he has spoken with teachers, managers and principals on a number of topics, including assessment practice, professional development, leadership and strategic planning. In April, his latest role was announced: Chair of the Tomorrow’s Schools Review Independent Taskforce. Haque took some time out from his busy schedule to speak with EducationHQ about what it takes to be a successful school leader and why he can’t imagine a career outside of education.
