There is no shortage of suggestions about how teachers can do their job better: increase the quality of feedback to students, engage in evidence-based practice, leverage online Professional Learning Networks, focus on differentiation and personalisation, use ICTs to increase engagement and integrate 21st Century sensibilities in lesson planning. The list goes on. But how many school leaders have actually asked teachers what they need and want to improve in teaching and learning?
