Dennis Yarrington – busy bridging the gap between policy and practice
With a 30-year career spent largely in Catholic and government primary and high schools across New South Wales, the Northern Territory and the ACT, Dennis Yarrington brings much experience and knowledge to his roles as president of the Australian Primary Principals Association (APPA) and Deputy Chair of Principals Australia Institute (PAI). He spoke to Grant Quarry.
"I learnt early on, through experiences, that when things don’t go to plan or something doesn’t work out, beating yourself up does not work. Turning challenges or disappointments into opportunities sets the mind on a positive path and solutions become much clearer," Yarrington says.
