Can teachers be trusted with child protection?

It’s always been there, lurking in the shadows of the classroom in some form, but gradually and more stringently bureaucracy has infiltrated our schools, slowly stripping away teachers’ autonomy in providing care for their students and replacing it with a one-size-fits-all rule book for child protection.
