Birmingham says Gonski funding corrupt, seeks new deal with states

Federal Education Minister Simon Birmingham has renewed calls to replace the “corruption” of Gonski ahead of Friday’s meeting with state counterparts. Birmingham says 27 special deals brokered by the Labor government produced a funding model littered with preferential treatment to some states, and a lack of equity across the board.
