‘Alarming’ new figures show scale of NSW teacher shortage

Students are being left with “minimal supervision” and unprecedented numbers of classes are being merged in New South Wales as the state grapples with a serious teacher shortage, reports claim.

The Daily Telegraph reported that one Education Department official tried to prevent school principals from informing parents of the problem to avoid embarrassing the Government.
