St George State High School aims for. every student to succeed at school. However, some children and young people experience barriers to successful participation. Risk of disengagement can happen at any phase of secondary education. Timely and skilled interventions can support many students to get back on track.

About The Role

St George State High School has a unique opportunity for. a Youth Support Coordinator. to work with secondary students at risk of disengaging from education.

  • The range of activities undertaken by the Youth Support Coordinator. at St George State High School include:
  • Interagency collaboration and community engagement through attendance at community meetings and networking with local services
  • Identification of students at risk of disengaging
  • Case management on individual level and participation in Student Support and Wellbeing Teams
  • Development and facilitation of lunchtime programs (lunch and breakfast club) responsive student needs
  • Development and facilitation of social skills and other Student Support Programs responsive to student needs and school data
  • Being an active part of the school and wider community
