Located at the corner of Goldmine Road and Minka Lane, Ormeau Woods State High School has been part of the community since its opening in 2009.

Starting with just 250 students in Years 8 and 9, the school has grown to include students from Years 7 to 12, with most coming from local feeder schools: Norfolk Village State School, Ormeau State School, and Woongoolba State School.

Your opportunity:

The successful applicant will work closely with students, teachers, and the leadership team to provide a safe, supportive and structured environment for students requiring additional behavioural, wellbeing and engagement support.

The successful applicant will demonstrate strong interpersonal and organisational skills, the ability to build positive relationships with young people, and experience in supporting students with behavioural, social and engagement needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the daily operation of the Reflection Room.
  • Supporting student alignment to all components of the Student Code of Conduct, including uniform.
  • Supporting students to reflect on their behaviour and develop positive strategies for re-engagement.
  • Maintaining accurate student records and documentation.
  • Monitoring student attendance, behaviour and engagement.
  • Communicating effectively with teachers, administration, families and relevant school support staff.
  • Supporting students to successfully transition back into their regular classroom environment.
  • Building positive relationships with students and encouraging respectful and responsible behaviour.
